The Wade's World Foundation and MLA Partner Schools have partnered together resulting in a completely refurbished gym at Manual Arts, including new floors, paint, artwork, backboard and scoreboards.
Seven time NBA All-Star and Olympic Gold Medalist, Dwayne Wade unveiled the new gym in a in a special ribbon cutting ceremony with 100 of the school’s female athletes. Dwayne Wade and LA Sparks superstar, Tina Thompson spoke and took pictures with the star struck and inspired student athletes.In addition to the new court, the foundation also sent 50 female athletes to the Rookie All-Star game.
Finally the foundation hosted an event benefiting MLA at the Montage Beverly Hills. The MC of the afternoon was Sherri Shepard and included a performance by John Legend. Many thanks to the Wade’s World Foundation for helping make a difference for the Manual Arts community and supporting MLA’s work in LA’s Promise neighborhood
