Lianna Kong, Associate Director of Health Initiatives
Lianna develops and implements health programs for the school communities of LA's Promise.
She joined LA's Promise in May 2011 as a Project Manager for the 9th Grade Health Screenings Pilot Program at Manual Arts High School. Prior to joining LA's Promise, Lianna was an assistant acquisitions editor on the economics, finance and business list at The MIT Press. She was an Education Pioneers Fellow in the 2010 Los Angeles Cohort and worked at California Charter Schools Association on strategic advocacy for charter school facilities.
Lianna earned her MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management and BA in Economics and French from Wellesley College. She published a book in October 2009 titled I am neurotic and so are you based on the blog iamneurotic.com.
Her favorite book is The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths by Ingri d'Aulaire and Edgar Parin d'Aulaire.
She enjoys pie baking, T-shirt printing, and car camping.
